Why Mona’s Guide Exists?
To help people understand the system, move safely, and get closer to real opportunity in Dubai.

When I first moved to Dubai, I thought I had done my research. I read, I watched videos, I asked questions. But going through the actual system was a whole different story. I learned very quickly that getting information is one thing, but navigating the system is another.
Dubai can be one of the safest cities in the world and still be a place where you lose time, money, and peace of mind if you do not understand the process.
That is why I built Mona’s Guide. I want to give people the thing I wish I had when I got here: one trusted place to understand how Dubai actually works, avoid expensive mistakes, and get closer to the opportunities that are really here.
The Reason
There are three problems I keep coming back to.
- The first is that most people do not understand the systems in Dubai.
The systems here are very different. Real estate is different. Immigration is different. Business setup is different. The process of the actual move is different. Even culture has its own system. People need somebody who can explain those systems before they get here, not after the mistake has already been made.
- The second is that there is not one place where an individual can get all the information they need in one place.
Businesses have systems in place for coming to Dubai. Individuals do not. When I did my own research, there was nowhere I could go to get everything I needed. How do I get my visa. What shipping company do I use. How do I set up my business. How do I rent safely. How do I do all of this without learning it piece by piece from ten different people. That place did not exist for me.
- The third is safety, but not safety in the way people usually think about it.
Ā I am talking about safety in the process. Safety from scams. Safety from bad providers. Safety from paperwork mistakes. Safety from making expensive decisions when you do not yet understand what questions to ask. A lot of people do not even know this is a problem until they are already inside the system.
That is the gap I want Mona’s Guide to fill.
What I Believe the Perfect Solution Looks Like
What I Wish I Had When I First Arrived in Dubai
The roadmap I wish someone had given me from day one. The real model behind Mona’s Guide.
- Guides. I needed clear, structured information that explained the processes I was about to go through before I was standing inside them. I needed to understand how things worked in plain English, without hype, without jargon, and without ten people giving me ten different answers.
- Trusted providers. At a certain point, information is not enough. You need the right people. You need the right person to help you with your visa, the right person to help you set up your business, the right realtor, the right financial and compliance guidance. You need people who actually know the system and are not going to burn you.
- A real support. Even when I had a trusted person, I still needed someone to go with me, help me understand my LLC setup, and help me make the right choices because I did not yet know what the right choices were. That is why I keep coming back to the same simple structure. A guide. A trusted provider. And, when needed, someone who can help you move through it.
What People Get Wrong About Dubai
Social media has flattened Dubai into a very shallow story. If people type Dubai into Instagram, what they usually see is Lamborghinis, gold machines, shirtless guys on beaches, and a lot of fake flexing. That is not the Dubai I know.
The part that changed me is the caliber of people here. Some of the smartest women I have ever met in my life are in Dubai. The real people building here are not shallow. They are talented, serious, intelligent, and often much more accessible than the people you would be trying to reach in older, more established markets. Everybody is somebody here. That part is not advertised enough.
Mona’s Guide needs to stand in direct contrast to the shallow version of Dubai. It needs to show the real layer, the lived layer, the serious layer, the layer where systems, talent, access, and timing all come together.
The Opportunity Story
What I realized here is that the distance between you and opportunity in Dubai is shorter than most people think.
In a place like America, the distance between you and your dreams can feel like a very long ladder climb. It can feel political, crowded, and slow. In Dubai, the distance can get very thin. You can get close to the right rooms faster. You can get close to the right people faster. You can get close to money, opportunity, and momentum faster. That does not mean it is easy. It means the distance is shorter if you know how to move.
That is why I like the language of touching the opportunity. For the right person, in the right sector, with the right plan, Dubai lets you get close enough to actually touch what you came for.
But there is another important part of that story. There is urgency here. This window is open right now, but it will not stay open forever. Top talent keeps coming because the word is getting around. Some sectors are already crowded. Others are still very hungry. That is why Mona’s Guide cannot just say Dubai is amazing. It has to help the right people understand where the real opportunities are, what sectors are still open, and how to move before they waste years figuring it out the hard way.
Why Dubai?
There are two layers to why Dubai matters to me.
The personal layer is that I am from this side of the world, but I had not really seen this version of the Middle East since I was a very young child. When I came back here, I could not believe my eyes. I remember thinking, this is the Middle East? I had never seen this version of it. I realized that the Middle East most Americans think they know is very different from the Middle East that actually exists here. A big part of this brand comes from wanting to share what I found, because I had to rediscover it for myself too.
The second layer is opportunity. America used to run on the idea of being the land of opportunity. For decades, immigrants believed that if you got there, your dreams had a real chance. But in many sectors now, especially media, the ladders are already built. The climb is long. The politics are heavy. It can take years and years to get close to the rooms, people, and opportunities you are aiming for.
Dubai felt different to me. Dubai is still young. A lot of sectors are still being built. The city is still hungry. It is still attracting top talent. And if you are good at what you do, if you come with a real track record, access here is very accessible. That is the phrase I keep coming back to. Access here is very accessible. That is not how I felt in America.
I built Mona’s Guide because I needed Mona’s Guide.
I needed one place that could tell me how Dubai actually works. I needed one place that could tell me where the traps were. I needed one place that could help me understand the system, find the right people, and stop wasting time learning everything the hard way.
That is what I want this brand to be for other people.
Not a fantasy. Not a fluff page. Not generic relocation content.
A real guide. A real trust layer. A real bridge between where you are now and what might actually be possible for you here.
